How much input power should you simulate with in RF front-end? I suppose you should use two different input power depeding on high or low gain mode.

usually, use the same input power, high gain or low gain is just your controll mode. it is nothing to do with the input power.
if you simulation your circuit, input power chose -55dbm from -45dbm at 50 ohms input impedence.
it depends on your ip3 in both of high gain and low gain mode. the max input signal power is 10db lower than the ip3 usually.

Depends on your application. I have worked with manpack sets (walkie- talkies) that can handle their aerials touching with TX pwr = 12W and the receiver switched to the same channel!
