Guide to design VCO using LC

I have to design VCO 3.2 GHz using IC 2503 or spf3043 with lumped circuit.

First, IC2503. Designing using this IC is easier than 3043. I try to design as the circuit in its datasheet in 2450 Mhz and try to change some value of components but there is nothing happen.

Have you ever design using them? How do i know more about circuits using them?
Which is the helpful books, websites to design?
