what is the difference between fourier series & fouries transform ,where they used....& its application?

All the real world signals are composed of infinite sinusoidal signal of different frequency and amplitude. Fourier transform/series both are used to decomposes a signal into its constituent frequencies.

FOURIER SERIES is used for periodic signals while FOURIER TRANSFORM is for aperiodic signals.

The inverse Fourier transform converts the frequency domain results back to time domain.
