question about grounding of switched single ended connections

Hello,

I am trying to wire a radio that I am building. It is a 40M direct conversion transceiver. All of the components that get switched back and forth for transmit and receive, such as the LO and the antenna and the audio amp, are single ended. Is there a great potential of causeing the end result to not work at all or work very badly if I tie all the grounds together and only switch the hot side on the connection, for the sake of fewer relays?

George

Do those sections have dissimilar supply voltages?

If they do, then they should be grounded separately.

The reason is that the higher volt levels may find current paths through other sections which have lower volt levels, and go through components you don't want to be exposed to reverse voltage.

I'm presenting a worst case scenario. I could be wrong.

No it is all the same supply.
