How to simulate a device/component of mini-circuits in ADS

There is S-Parameter data which can be used in ADS. But how can it be done if I want to simulate any non-linear behavior or EM behavior of its layout?

You can't perform non-linear analysis with just S-Parameters. You could do non-linear sims if you get X-Parameters, which are similar, but newer (think of them like multiple sets of S-parameters taken over a range, like input power... to model things like gain compression in an amplifier).

The EM behavior in the layout will be more of a function of the artwork surrounding the device. You can design the layout artwork, add ports to your design where the part's pins will attach, then create a Momentum Look-alike component. Once you've created the Look-alike component, open a new schematic window, add the look-alike from the Component Library, then wire your SnP block to the pin connections on the EM sim (look-alike) component (and wire your port terminations to additional ports you place at the ends of the transmission lines in the layout).

When you simulate that circuit, ADS will "push" into the look-alike part, run the Momentum solver to get the S-parameters of the artwork, then combine that information with the S-params from the file you got from Mini-Circuits and spit out the combined answer for the whole circuit (part+layout).

Here's a better description of the steps from an old post.

S-Parameters and passive circuits like layouts, PCBs are always linear elements.
If you add a nonlinear component such as transistor, diodes etc. nonlinear simulator (HB) will treat linear and nonlinear equations all together.
