Hi all,
I'm trying to do a circuit/EM co-simulation of an ANTENNA with some surface mounted devices (SMDs). I used 50 ohm internal lumped ports replacing the SMDs, doing EM simulation and then import S-parameters into the circuit simulation with actual SMD models. Then I (maybe) get an accurate S11 of the antenna with SMDs. However, my question is wouldn't those 50-ohms lumped ports, at first, influence the radiation properties of the antennas, e.g. patterns, efficiency? Or iin other words, will that be different radiation results if I choose to do a whole EM simulation of antenna with SMDs (maybe RLC boundaries in HFSS)?
Thanks in advance.
