Finding cheap UV Sensors

Hello,
We are searching for an UV sensor around 280nm for fire detection.
However, what we found is expensive: the cheapest we could find was on ebay at 8S (And it's not even in our sensivity range)
The most promising we found is the SEN137B2B, the flame sensor in the UVTRON. It's 45S.
What is up with that? I can find IR photoelectric sensors (photodiodes) for a couple of cents...
Do you know of any source that sells UV sensors not over 50cents in the range of 280nm?
I hope they exist, otherwise we will have to rethink our conception...
Thanks a lot!

There are also UV selective GaN and SiC semiconductor sensors available
