RF/Microwave Transistor Tool for TI83/84 calculators
First of all, I hope this thread is in the correct area.
I am working on a small RF/Microwave program for the TI83 and TI84 calculators. I am doing it mainly because we are allowed to use programmable calculators in school but also to learn from it!
Just wondering if someone here wants to try my program and tell me what needs to be improved and what is missing.
Features as of 2012-02-03:
- Can store entered S-parameters for later use (even if the calculator is restarted)
- Draw input and output stability circles (can also determine if the device is unconditionally stable)
- Calculate simultaneous match for bilateral transistors (and also GTmax)
- Draw constant Gl and Gs circles for unconditionally stable unilateral transistors (gonna add plots for potentially stable and bilateral transistors also)
- Calculate the Noise measure (M)
- Draw constant noise figure circles
So, does anyone wants to β-test this software?
Cheers!
So I updated it with some new features and some bug fixes.
Changelog 2012-02-04:
- Can plot Operating and Available Power-Gain circles (for stable cases)
- Fixed some special cases where the program could crash
- Added exit Screen

You need to download & install the TI-Connect software and transfer both files in the zip-file!
Nice Application. I just downloaded it, but haven't tried it yet. You might want to go over and visit Cemetech.net, some expert TI programmers hanging out there.
Thanks! Hope you find it useful :)
I think the problem is to find RF engineers that have a TI83/84 and actually use it (or TI-programmers that know about RF/μwave transistor design).
Does anyone know if it is possible to run TI-84 programs on newer TI calculators? I don't have a TI-89 (for example), but anyone that has maybe can try this program?
Changelog 2012-02-08:
- Added GammaIn & GammaOut calculations
- Can plot VSWRin and VSWRout circles

Changelog 2012-02-15:
- Improved the GUI by telling the user when to press the enter key
- All the values for noise and gain are both entered and displayed in dB, for consistency :)
- Added the possibility to calculate GT, GP and GA (not only draw the circles)
- If the unilateral approximation is almost valid, the program will detect this and ask the user if he/she wants to use the unilateral approximation
- Also added the possibility to plot gain circles for unstable devices and the program will tell if the device is unstable before plotting
- Overall bug fixes

I made a new program for conversion between S-Z-Y-ABCD parameters.
Should work for both TI83 and TI84 (and maybe newer/better calculators also that can run in TI84-mode).

The calculations performed in this program has been verified with RF toolbox for Matlab, so it should be correct.
This works nicely on my TI84, but not on my TI89, TI Connect complains that it's an incompatible version.
Thanks for your reply!
And there is no "TI-84 mode" available in the settings for the TI-89?
Changelog 2012-02-22:
- Added some calculations regarding oscillators, probably only helpful for our exam :)
- Changed the name of the program
- Some other fixes

Changelog 2012-03-01:
- Moved some things and clarified some Unilateral calculations
- Can map a GammaL circle to the GammaS plane and vice versa, under the condition that GammaS/L = GammaIn*/Out*
- Some other fixes

Changelog 2012-03-06:
- Can now calculate maximum stable gain (MSG)
- Can calculate single VSWRin/VSWRout values, not just circles
- Added the possibility to clear all of the variables if the program doesnt work anymore (instead of doing a reset of the calculator)
- Removed some unnecessary stuff

Probably the final release if I don't discover any problems with this version!
Found an error in the Noise measure calculation.

Hello
I dont have that jack to transfer program from pc to calculator to calculator. Could someone please help me to do it directly in my mobile pls. Its very urgent. I need it today or within tomorrow.
thanks
Hi Sebgus-Your file has disappeared from Mediafire, can you re-upload it?
Thanks
Dave
I would also like to get access to this file. Can anyone that has downloaded it before upload it?
Thanks in advance!
Hey!
Sorry for the bad download link, I will upload the file asap.
Here are better links:

Hope it works!
Awesome! Thanks a lot sebgus. I will be using this for the next 2 weeks in preparation for my exam.
Hi,
The CONVTABLE programme crashed on my TI 84+ Silver Edition.
Could anyone please help?
Thank you very much.
