A circuit that is time-invariant but time-varying response

Please clarify this?

The PSS analysis is capable of handling both autonomous (non-driven) and non-autonomous (driven) circuits. Autonomous circuits are time-invariant circuits that have time-varying responses. Thus, autonomous circuits generate non-constant waveforms even though they are not driven by a time-varying stimulus.

I really can't think of a circuit that satisfies both condictions:

+ time-invariant
+ time-varying response

Oscillators for example

With oscillators, what is its input, dc voltage source, sinusoidal output or no input?

Sometimes oscillators are named DC to AC converters, because they are able to generate AC signals itself, the circuit being supplied only by a DC source.
The output of an oscillator could be any kind of repetitive signal, but the most used waveforms in electronics are sine wave and square wave.
