Hi all

I almost finish from make my own design for GPS tracker , but my aknowlegment is low with RF part ,

now I go to use this active antenna for gps which have two internal LNA built in , and it come with smd coaxial cable with IBEX terminal , as I know the coaxial cable come with to pair GND and signal, my question is

1- from where it feed power to internal LNA ? where the coaxial cable have two wire inside ? GND and signal

2- did I need to to add extra LNA to my board ? or the LNA only for Passive antenna ?

this is active antenna manual

thanks in advance

You need a choke to feed the DC for the outdoor LNA through the center of the coax cable, as in the image below:

To add or not to add another LNA on your main board depends on what is your receiver sensitivity right now. Generally is ok to add another LNA on the board.
