working principle of diplexer

时间:04-04 整理:3721RD 点击:
Hi,

I am working on diplexer.

When i gave two separate frequencies (F1:1.2GHz&F2:1.4GHz) with same input level, both frequencies (1.2 & 1.4GHz) were observed with some loss at the output spetrum. is this the correct output of the diplexer or should the output be the addition of F1 & F2(1.2+1.4=2.6GHz).Please clarify

Thank you,

Kumaya

You are confusing diplexer and mixer. A diplexer is a linear filter, it should not generate any sum and difference frequencies.

a diplexer can mean many things, but the common usage of the term is two bandpass (or sometimes lowpass/highpass) filters, one at 1.2 ghz, and one at 1.4 ghz, connected in such a way as two signals at the common junction split so that only one comes out of port 2, and the other frequency comes out of port 3.
