question regarding binomial arrays..

Hi all,

I have a question regarding Binomial arrays,
I know that binomial arrays provide minimum or no side lobes when the interelement spacing is equal to or less than lambda/2, which is an advantage but it also has larger beam width.

so my question is in what all applications might the binomial array be used ?

For certain applications, it is highly desirable that secondary lobes should be eliminated completely or reduced to minimum desirable level compared to main lobes. One such example of Binomial array is Bobtail antenna array.

can you please explain like in which areas might binomial arrays used? like defense, commercial, etc?
