Hi all :D
My professor give me a project to design a paraboloid reflector but he only show me the picture of that dish and gain at 30db,solution freq at 3GHz,the pic look like it's the front feed type
I'm new to antenna design,i started with microstrip patch array and still have work on this prj
I don't know how to design that paraboloid antenna and have some question
I think the gain and directivity of this system is affected by the dish, right ?
I saw some calculator for this reflector dish on the internet, they only need 3 input and it will calculate the other one (http://www.satcom.co.uk/article.asp?article=22),i input with gain 30db,freq with 3ghz and efficency with o.6 ( is this f/D ? )
And the last question, the calculator only calculate the dish but how about the feed antenna,it must be the horn feed or sth else, and if it must be the horn feed is it's design rule the same with horn antenna ? and in my case, how can i design that horn feed to compatible with calculated reflektor dish ?
Sorry for my bad English and lack of knowledge,i'm looking forward to your help :d
thank you all :D

There are a number of excellent books on the subject to get started with a general design. The demands that a reflector on a processor are significant so unless you have a relatively large computer and the appropriate variations on the software (FE-BI in particular) HFSS may not be the best tool. Look into TICRA as an alternate.
Thanks for your help,i will try that :D,i found out HFSS may not the best but my professor want me to use it or CST :D
You can use below reference for your design. EM solver ( just like HFSS) is used to design this antenna
