Hi everybody,
Newbie here. Straight to the question:
The minimum is discussed everywhere, but what is the *maximum* spatial separation of two 4G antennas, using two high-gain antennas, with for example the Teltonika 950?
I have tried, but cannot find an answer to this question anywhere, as far as I can see.
Thing is I am mounting them on a sailboat, but is thinking of maybe not having to mount one of them in the top of the mast. Instead having it at the foot of the mast or simply letting one of the standard antennas stay on the receiver.
I would then have the remote antenna as the primary and the "local" as secondary, and then the receiver would go into MIMO mode when I got closer to shore.
Basically, they would be on top of each but vertically separated about 11 meters, so their respective distances to the station would be equal.
I have had some people telling me that the max distance between them is of importance, but I can't understand how that is. Which I realize is my problem.
But I am still asking...how does that work?

MIMO antenna separation (and correlation) use a very complex mathematical description.
But a good starting point is to get at least 20dB isolation at the used frequencies between antennas.
Hi,
Thanks for your reply!
But, aren't you talking about minimum distances? I am talking about maximum distances?
