How to convert i-deas mesh to use it in HFSS?

I have an i-deas mesh of a structure that i want solve using hfss. HFSS does not take .unv files. Anyone got any ideas on how to convert the mesh back to a solid? HFSS takes imports such as pro-e, autocad, iges, stl etc.

My recommendation would be to redraw the structure in HFSS rather than trying to import the file.

There are a number of formats that can be imported but I find it less effort to start from scratch. I also usually create models parametrically so I can modify the structure with minimal pain.

Looking into using parameters to represent drawing, where can I start or what resource is good that can help me know various equations for different shapes. i am looking to draw a plane.

From your question it appears that you have not spent much time with the HFSS documentation. The on-line help will get you started. The Ansoft application engineering staff has numerous examples available and can provide additional guidance.

I would start there. There are numerous tutorials available . Many can be found using the search feature on this site.
