etotal ephi etheta

I have simulated patch antenna in xy plane.

how to draw the far field radiation pattern, which one is the correct quantitiy.

Etotal, Ephi, Etheta......etc

genreally the far field plotted in terms of either gain or directivity ...so you first selected gain or directivity and then go through phi or theta angle varriation according to ur requirement i.e. by changing value og phi or theta you can plot E or H field of the antenna............................

Etotal=sqrt(sqr(Ephi) + sqr(Etheta)) so you can either plot Etotal or its composites,generally we plot gain and directivity and also Gphi or Gtheta,Dphi and Dtheta, see Balanis 2nd chapter you will be very informed.
