Ferranti Effect, where receiving end voltage is relatively larger than sending end, is more probable in transmission lines, when there is sudden drop of load. The sending end voltage is a bit higher than that with load at the receiving end. Will this phenomenon affect the armature of the generator (by means of change in bus voltage) located at the sending end bus of the transmission line?
This is an AC phenomena based on the transmission line being around a quarter wavelength long. It was discovered in the early 1920s before FDM was used and baseband signals were sent over lines of many miles length.
Thanks for the info.. But what I mean is that: will ferranti effect affect the generator armature when the sending end bus voltage increase?
