HFSS Convergence Issue
I have modeled the antenna in HFSS and after the simulation, the convergence data only completed 2 out of 20. The S parameter data does not look good, and I know this antenna is working good from other software called NEC.
Can someone please help me with this convergence problem?
Thank you

hi,
Post your file and i ll have a look at it. That is more easier to figure out the problems. Second thing,in fast sweep the solution frequency should always be in the centre of your frequency sweep which is not in your case. Sweep it from 1GHz to 2 Ghz with 1.5 Ghz as solution frequency. What do you mean by convergence data completed 2 out of 20 ?
Post your file and i ll have a look at it.

Hi SC,
Thanks for your reply and guide to the frequency sweep. I have attached the design in this post and the NEC response results, hope you can help for this design.
The convergence means, once the simulation is finished, and then the we will go to the HFSS tab, and select Results, from Results we will choose Solution Data, from the Solution Data window, in Convergence tab, we will see the passes, my passes is only 2 out 20 that I set, so basically two points are shown. I am not sure this is good or not, but normally from HFSS example atleast 15 passes out of 20 is completed.

you have not defined the port correctly. Define the rectangle again and redefine the waveport again. it ll work fine then.

Hi Sc,
Thanks for the reply and viewing my project. I have change the port and the simulation does change.
But I know which is the right port size need to be used?

Hi,
You are using 'Driven terminal mode',any specific reason for it ? Driven terminal gives you the S11 parameter calculated based on the terminal not the complete modal. I think you should use 'Driven modal mode'. In that case you can use either 'Lumped port' or 'waveport' for excitation. Its upto you to choose which port suits better to your structure.
