Need Matlab implementation of Cylindrical Scattering

Dear Friends,
I want to understand and implement the "Addition theorem for Hankel Functions" Equations 11-82 from Advanced Electromagnetics by Balanis. I never took lectures on this course and I am following the book myself, and I am unable to find an easy proof for this equation, specially how to understand the solutions for rho < pho_dash and pho > rho_dash.
It would be more helpful if I could find a matlab implementation of this theorem, to see that if we displace the cylinder by pho or pho_dash, the calculated field must be same....
Please assist or suggest any book to understans this concept.
I have also followed Harrington, but he also put it there directly the solution equation without any explanation.
