chip resistors in hfss
I want to simulate a power divider in HFSS,whitch has a chip resistor. but i don't know how to make the chip resistor.can anyone help me?
Can somebody help us on this? I would like to simulate a Wilkinson power divider as well in HFSS?
Create a rectangle or surface or identify an object face where you want your resistor.
From top menu HFSS>boundaries>assign>impedance enter the ohms/square
of your resistor and the reactance(usually 0 for thick/thin film)
Pay attention to the substrate and leads going to your resistor. Getting something
close to a series resistor will take some optimizing.

I am implementing power divider using striplines between two conductors in air medium so how should i go with placing resistors. If u have done that just post image of ur model.
Thank you.
I need to create a chip resistor too, but for a circular patch antenna (i initially used shorting pin but the bandwidth was too small!). I want the chip resistor to have 1 Ohm resistance. Is it better to assign lumped RLC? Can i keep the cylinder that was the shorting pin but assign to the cylindrical face the resistance? And my last question: the current flow goes from the ground plane to the patch, right?
thanks in advance
