hi.
please , if we want design patch antenna in (*) fr=5.8 GHz , epr=2.2 ; h=1mm
me , i found
length (patch)=16.8984mm
width(patch)=20.4458 mm
the inset feed point distance (for adaptation)=5.193mm
i use transmission line model for design patch antenna!
but
in a publication , they found
length (patch)=16mm
width(patch)=9mm
in length there is no problem , because transmission model is an approximate model , but in width there is an 11 mm difference , can someone try to calculate dimensions of patch with the caracteristic in up(*)

Hi,
Physical width of patch (in cm) = 2.0446
Effective length of patch (in cm) = 1.7948
Physical length of patch (in cm) = 1.6898
Feed point position = 0.5913 cm
Hope this helps...
Many values for the width are possible. The change in width changes the input impedance, and also the bandwith [1].
Of course, if you change the width, and the input impedance changes, you have to adjust the position of the probe feed/length of the inset feed.

ok thank u very much

we should tha case when (w<L) or (w>L)
