HFSS simulation of patch antenna feeding
Do you know any thing about simulation of stripline feeding of antenna
I dont know how to excite strip line in HFSS or feko
please help me thanks
Stripline has ground on both sides with embedded signal line. In HFSS the wave-port should be set such that the two edges top and bottom of the port touches the two ground planes and the integration line starts from one of the ground planes and arrow head should touch the center signal strip. No need to put vector on both grounds as long as your port edges touches both grounds they are connected and on same potential.
Hope that helps
thanks for your help
But when I draw the integration line from one of the ground planes to the
other, the answer is different with above suggestion
Can you please explaine why?
When you connect both grounds with a integration line it is like a parallel plate waveguide scenario you must not connect the two grounds with integration line just draw it from one ground to center. Also you can solve ports only to check if the desired mode is propagating in the structure in this way you can double check if your feed is working fine or not.
thanks for your attention
I want to simulate a 50 ohm strip line in HFSS but the answer is wrong
I used AWR to calculate the width of the line
and I drew the line in HFSS
then I set two 50 ohm ports with this manner and excited them but the S11 of the line is not calculating correctly
(the line should be matched )
could you help me please ?
you must have done some thing wrong it should be matched if you line impedance is 50ohms, what is the substrate properties let me calculate the width for you.
Dielectric constant is 2.2 and the substrate's height is .8 mm
for the line to be 50 ohm the width of the trace should be .658 mm
the line is 150 mm *150 mm and the center frequency is 1.2 GHz.
the project should calculate S11 in frequency range (0,10 GHz)
best regards
