I am trying to simulate a transformer combiner with momentum. The discussion I am having with my colleague is first, how to simulate the structure in momentum and then how to take the snp file and simulate it in ads to characterize for amplitude and phase mismatches between the differential ports.
The problem I am having is with the ground connection. Suppose I have a ground ring around my combiner. In this case all the ports in momentum are simulated with the ground ring as reference. How do I simulate this structure in ADS for characterization? How do I connect the grounds of the balanced outputs and the single-ended inputs together? I am of the view that these two grounds must be separated and hence a choke should be added at the balanced ports. But he argues that you should not do this because this is not the real situation as we are not physically adding the choke in the layout.
What do you think about this? If you are interested I can add the screenshots of the momentum and ADS simulations.

Yes please add some pics and schematic, would be helpful.
