Question in hfss?
Here what is the meaning of "full wave" electromagnetic field simulator?
Any Good reference for FEM and MOM?
Any one have the below one
Analytical and Computational Methods in Electromagnetics by Ramesh Garg
I'm new to HFSS.
There are three solution type available.
Driven terminal.
Driven model
Eigen Mode
Which one we can use for antenna and board anlaysis applications.?
regards,
johnson
For the first post, HFSS simulates wave propagation from Maxwell's equations, it makes fewer simplifications than other simpler, faster solvers. I'm not that experienced with either FEM or MOM, but Sadiku's Numerical Techniques in Electromagnetics provides a decent introduction to many of the most common solving algorithms. There are many other books out there especially for FEM, and several other types of books have intros/sections devoted to one or the other, IE Balanis Antenna Theory. Sorry, don't have that book.
Driven terminal is a good place to start, it is very much like using a source and load like in the lab. When you are able to have driven terminal and driven model results match, then you know how to use driven model. Driven model is more for waveguides and other structures that can be excited in different modes.
thanks for your reply.
One more question,
How to add s parameter of two different design in to single file.(say results of two microstriplines with two different gaps).
hi johnson.mike,
you can export the two series of s parameter and plot them in matlab.
plz check this. specially page number 200 and adove.
