Polarity HFSS 11 question

时间:03-26 整理:3721RD 点击:
I am trying to simulate two adjacent structures that have opposite polarities of one another, and then study how a planar incident wave reacts to it. I am not sure how to assign the different polarity. Please advise.

Thank you,
Cesar

What's the meaning of polarity in this case??

Pere

The electron flow is opposite of one another. Lets say the structures are bisected by the Z-axis, one would have a polarity in the positive Z and the other would be in the negative Z.

Cesar

You can assign the polarity of a port in HFSS by using waveports. When you assign a waveport theres an option to assign an integration line. If you want the two ports to have an opposite polarity make sure the integration lines on the respective ports are in opposite directions.

Thank you, but that is not what i need. I have more then two structures with a periodic change in polarity. I want to be able to assign the polarity to each individual one.
Cesar

I think you can direction of integration line periodically. mean first one in +x, next -x and so on. since opposite flow requires 180 degree phase difference.

Irfan

That is what i have been trying to do, assign periodic integration lines. I am not sure how to do it. Right now I have assigned opposite current flows on the structures, but I would like to know how to do it with the integration lines of the waveports.
