handover matlab

I need a help regarding my MS thesis. I have read few papers on Wimax Handover.And decided to work on wimax handover. But still i am not getting any idea on which specific topic i should work. Also i dont know how to use matlab. I have to learn it as well. Also want to know can we do wimax handover related work in Matlab? Please help me as i have short time. Thanks in advance.

you can try a handover using stateflow

create physical channels that are involved in handover then use Stateflow for the logical part of the handover processing. We can discuss it more if you want

I was thinking if i can work on handover between wimax and GSM. Let suppose user of Gsm reaches an area where there is no coverage area of GSM.Means no BTS..At that time it should switch to the WImax BTS, thats in its boundry range.

I dont know how well is this idea..and if i can be able to implement it..as i dont have any idea yet how to start it..
ANother idea i have is to do handover within wimax. For that i dont have some better idea..like there is already lot work on this..like time fast hadnover etc parameters...
I need some guidance in this matter..

Physical channel is just like using a random bernoulli data source or you can specify your self what to send. Of course you would have CRC, Interleaving, Modulation etc this would be different if you are using Traffic channels and Signalling channels. Now a way to use Statefow is through Simulink so you will have to design a simulink model. Try to see the following posts on mathworks.com

dear Communications_Engineer, i am doing i similar kind or project and have no one who have handon on simulink .I got the model of wifi from matlab central whoch calculate the tx power using VAR but i m not understanding how is it returning VAR . Could u help me in this regard? or anyone else?
