Hi,
I want to plot fields for a resonant microstrip. In HFSS it is terminated with a capacitor on one end and a lumped port on the other. Then I tuned and matched it in Ansoft Designer with 2 capacitors.(transferring S-Parameters from HFSS to Designer via text file).
Now I want to plot the fields in HFSS as if my matching network is connected. I expect to see some nice standing wave patterns. But how? I think the Ansoft Designer "Push Excitation"-Function is doing this. Unfortunatly I use the Students Version and have to deal without it.
As I understand, I can only modify "Scale Factor" and "Offset Phase" under HFSS->Fields->Edit Sources. But this doesn't change the shape of my fields.
Do I need to modify the impedance of my lumped port and is this what "Push Excitation does?
Best Regards
