Question about rewinding a transformer

时间:03-26 整理:3721RD 点击:
Hi,

I have a flyback transformer out of a SMPS that has burnt out one of the primary windings, so I'm looking to rewind the transformer. I have managed to successfully dis-assemble the transformer with damage and recorded as much information as possible, ie the number of turns and wire guages for each layer. My problem is that I'm have some trouble finding a local supplier that can supply me the exact wire guages that I have meassured. These being 0.16mm(34 AWG), 0.2mm(32 AWG) and 0.4mm(26AWG).

My question is, can I change the gauge of the wires to ones that I can get? I'm think if I was to go up in diameter to the next availble size, this should be ok. There was a small amount of unused space on the bobbin so I think there should be enough room.

Thanks
Kenneth

Once i rewind my ferrite core transformer ,i have same problem as u have, i do a trick ,i buy wire of half the thickness
and double it then heeh eheh ehheee voila now at least 4 years passed and it is workin ok :)
