Finding the radiation pattern with specified excitation source distribution in IE3D
some of my juniors are having some doubts. i have attached the doc file with this. plz go thr it and help them.
if ie3d is not suitable, then suggest some other tools.
with thanks,

Hi, Kbmanick:
It is a simple job for IE3D. Attached is the IE3D files including results.
I see you only want to change the sources but not the geometry. You just need to simulate one structure and save the current distribution data. Then, on displaying the current distribution data, you can use current source and set the source impedance to be a very large value. In this way, you can guarantee the current at each port is what you want without affected by the 5-port s-parameters.
You can perform a near field calculation on IE3D/MGRID. Then, you set the excitations and see how the field look liket.
Best regards,
dear jian,
i am able to see the radiation pattern. but what i want is the procedure? how did u give the different distribution? say for example binomial array.

Hi, Kbmanick:
Do you mean you want to find the radiation pattern with specified excitation source distribution? IE3D/MGRID allows you to find the general pattern with unspecified sources (.MPA). You can find the radiation pattern of specified sources based upon the .MPA file on PATTERNVIEW (Edit->Prcoess General Pattern).
