extremely fine mesh
I need simulate the mutual inductance of two conductor loops in lossy medium at very low frequency such as 5kHz. Is there any software can do the job? Is FEMLab ok?
Thanks a lot!

Hi
You can use the Frequency Domain Solver from CST Microwave Studio.
cheers
Hi,mpero,
Thank you for your help.
I am not familiar with CST. I am wondering what is the reason for frequency domain solver in CST studio to be able to simulate my structure?
The loop I am going to simulate has 5meter radius which is extremely small compared to wavelength 60,000meter in free space at 5kHz. The radius of the wire for the loop is even much much smaller. The mesh may need to be generated at much higher frequency in order to have fine mesh on the wire for good accuracy. Also, the two loops need to be thousand meter away. Is it possible for CST to deal with it?
I tried IE3D, the result is not good.
Thank you,

Due to the large distance between both coils, it may be necessary to use surface mesh (the new Integral Solver of CST2008). It meshes only the surface, and there is not need to mesh the vacuum.
But for the frequency domain solver it is true, it may be very difficult to get the simulation done in a normal desktop PC.
