Lumped port de-embedding in HFSS
How can I de-embed the self-inductance of lumped port in HFSS?
Thanks.
It is impossible to do de-embedding for Lumped port because port solver for the propogation constant can not be done for lumped port.
Can't we calculate the magnetic flux and then calculate the inductance?
If you take your lumped port, attach it to some sort of transmission line with a wave-port at the other end, you can de-embed the wave port back to the lumped port. Then use a circuit simulator to de-embed the response of the lumped port. Of course if you have discontinuities at the lumped port those will be included in the measurement.
Another option would be to drive a very lossy tline with the lumped port. Ideally S11 would be 0, but if it's not than that will be your lumped port inductance and other discontinuities.
