Inputs needed about FDTD based EM simulators
This is a sequel to my earlier post on FDTD based EM simulators.I need info about two FDTD based simulators.
1) Zealand's Fidelity
2) Remcom's XFDTD
We are evaluating IMST's 'Empire" and I am not impressed with the features and also the editor is highly non-intuitive.
We are looking at a cost of around US $5000 - US $ 6000. DOes Fidelity or XFDTD offer such a solution. All replies are welcome from those who have used any of the above softwares or even evaluated them.

Hello!
Do you need the software for making moneys (for company) or just for academic purposes? Then you can get nice discount.
+ for Fidelity is that they're using conformal FDTD but however it's GUI is nonintuitive too - but better than IMST's.
CST MWS would be the best choice but little bit more $$$ than you consider
I've used Fidelity few times since we started to use MWS
XFDTD and Empire are both using only staircase mesh
Hi Erip.
Thanks for your immediate response. We are using the software only for academic purposes.Absolutely no commercial stuff.Do you think that using conformal FDTD drastically reduces the errors or is it just a slight improvement that we can afford to ignore.Have you made any comparisons between Fidelity and IMST Empire with similar designs ? Thanks in advance.

Svarun, plz check your PM
conformal FDTD is very impotant, more important for non-rectangular shapes, such as circular or spherical, or even fractal cases. and Fidelity is a user-enemy software! i used it. bytheway, the results are in good agreement with HFSS for a multisegment dielectric resonator antenna. but i used it to simulate a fractal-shaped, L-probe fed p@tch antenna; it doesnt converge in a long time. i (better sey and one of my friends) used CST MWS to analyse it. we compare the results with IE3D. they are really well-agreed. so i suggest you to buy CST MWS. i think they have educational discount. (btw, do you use IE3D too? )
