Hi.
I am a freshman for HFSS v9.0, I would like to know how I could define the ground plane for patch antenna. Since I have drawn 2D rectangle, I defined it as perfect E and choose it is an infinite ground plane, but there is pop up warning that the selection must touch the background. How could I make it touch the background?
Best Regards,
Le

I saw a similar request here: URL h**p://www.edaboard.com/ftopic90008.html. I hope this is of help.[/url]
hiiiiiiiiii there,
I think you can use the finite conductivity instead of the perfect E option, you can create the 2D ground plane just below your structure and select it to assign the finite conductivity, then infinite ground plane option, this should sort out your problem, as I did it that way in my simulations
Hi,
The default boundary conditions is PEC.
So unless you cover the lower face with another boundary it wil be a perfect electric conductor.
Before running the simulation check your boundary conditions.
From the HFSS menu choose Boundary Display(Solver View).
