Hello:
I'm currently using RSoft's FullWave FDTD package to simulate Photonic Crystal structures. I use a 64-bit Linux version of the software which is installed on a 4 processor Linux cluster.
If I run a 3D simulation for a Photonic Crystal slab without defects with a grid size of Period/32 for 2^12 time steps, the software tells me the time for simulation should be around 5 days (24 hours of the run is already over). BTW..I'm using PML BCs for all boundaries.
1] Is this duration of simulation normal?
2] Has anyone simulated Photonic Crystal slab structures using FDTD?
3] What is the time taken for a transmission simulation such as the one mentioned above?
4] Also, if you are using another FDTD software package, please mention the performance of that too.
Thanks in advance.
