tape out是什么意思？是量产么？

就是流片，也就是放到IC厂去加工了。

我知道是流片,那是量产么还是刚开始的MPW?还是说都可以叫流片?

是指LAYOUT的文件*.gds可以送到流片的地方生产！

把版图送出去做mask，流片。

昨天刚听见老师说起，tapeout是流片的意思，据说以前设计公司把设计好的电路图的网表用磁带保存好送到制造公司，那时还没有U盘之类的东西，后来一直都没改过来.

Tape out 中文可翻译为“出带”， 即：当你的设计完成，将最后的数据（GDSII）送出去给Foundry进行流片。通常，如果你是做“MPW”，当然是 Tape out 数据去MPW；MPW成功后，要量产，你的项目就单独去做Masks了，此时一般就不叫Tape out，只是生产安排。

其实它们的来源各不相同，英文tape out的来源上面已经有很多人解释了。
而中文流片的来源是因为芯片的生产都是流水线生产的，芯片从整个流水线生产出来，就称之为“流片”了。
