A route guide provides routing directives for specific areas of your design. The routing
directives include

• Encouraging river routing on specific layers
• Prioritizing specific routing regions on specific layers

A single route guide provides one or more of these directives.

A routing blockage defines a rectangular or rectilinear region where no routing is allowed on
a specific layer.
