Introduction
This document provides a high-level summary of the HyperLynx 8.0 release. Refer to the Release Notes on SupportNet for the list of fixed defects.
This document includes a summary of the new features in this release, any authorization code changes required, any major installation changes, and any transitioning issues you should be aware of before installing. Additionally, any last minute issues found in the final stages of testing are included.
This document is located on the top level of the CD and on SupportNet. Changes may be added to this document after the release. Refer to the Release Highlights documents on SupportNet for the most up-to-date release information.
New Features for HyperLynx 8.0
Note: Many of the features described below are available in one or some — but not all — HyperLynx product packages. For details, please consult with your Mentor representative or visit the Mentor web site.
HyperLynx 8.0
This release of HyperLynx is the most comprehensive update in the history of the product. Probably most significant is the addition of a complete set of pre-layout power-integrity analysis features, plus DC-drop analysis for both pre- and post-layout designs. But many designers will also place high value on the wizard-driven, comprehensive batch-mode SI/timing analysis for DDR, DDR2, and DDR3 memory interfaces. v8.0 also adds significant new FastEyeTM features for SERDES channel analysis. Also, integration with the Expedition Enterprise PCB layout flow has been added, making it possible to pass data back-and-forth between HyperLynx and the CES constraint-editing system. Details of these and other enhancements are in the following sections.
