买Atmel买亏了，Microchip后悔了？

爱特梅尔（Atmel）公司股价周四盘中下挫9%，源于Microchip宣称将重新考虑其对Atmel的收购提案。根据近来的报道，Microchip有可能解除对Atmel的收购意向，因为后者在2015年第四季度的表现差强人意。

Atmel Corporation (NASDAQ:ATML) stock plunged more than 9% during pre-market hours today, after Microchip Technology Inc. (NASDAQ:MCHP) mentioned to reconsider its takeover offer. As per recent reports, Microchip looks to rescind its acquisition offer for the micro-controllers supplier, primarily due to the latter’s lackluster performance during fourth quarter of fiscal 2015 (4QFY15).

The company is scheduled to report 4QFY15 results on February 2. It expects to generate revenues in the lower end of its guided range of $266-286 million for the upcoming quarter. Despite the ongoing speculations, Microchip is yet to announce its final decision, which may include a downward revision in the takeover bid.

In 2008, Microchip proposed an offer to Atmel Corporation in a bid to drive operational synergies in cost of goods sold (COGS) and research and development (R&D). At present, Atmel stock is trading down 6.65% at $8, as of 10:34 AM EST, as opposed to Microchip Technology stock, which is down 1.78% at $44.13 at the same time.
