开发Raspberry Pi是一种甜蜜的负担

通过Raspberry Pi这个可配置的塑料开发板，设计者可实现小型低成本的计算机模块设计。

Raspberry Pi has been given a configurable plastic case by the designer of the small low cost computer module.

There are plastic enclosures for the computer available, but this is the first case endorsed by Raspberry Pi inventor Eben Upton at the Raspberry Pi Foundation.

Gordon Hollingworth, director of software at the Raspberry Pi Foundation writes on his blog:

"We thought that it would be great to create something affordable, but with the kind of real beauty and design that our products try to encompass,"

This is no ordinary plastic case. Two and a half years from concept to production, the "Construct" case was designed by Kinneir Dufort.

For injection moulding the design Raspberry Pi Foundation went to T-Zero, a West Midlands-based injection moulding company with a flair for creating the unusual, this was after working for a year with another company on the injection moulding tool for the case, which did not materialise.

T-Zero tuned the project around in a couple of months.

"The final case clips together cleanly and stays clipped together, all the interfaces are ‘just right’ the colouring is perfect and it can be made in the quantities we were hoping for. We’re really proud of it," said Hollingworth.
