rfid antenna tuning circuit design
i have a project which is so important for me where I need to built a simple RFID Antenna, I don't know how to start, which sources could help? the frequency should be 13.56 Mhz>> how L is should be?
i am really lost in this and need you advices and comments
thanks dude, I have it already but little complex and unuseful
that is best my ability
and you are the best man
thanks a lot
If in high school i supose it's not for a serious commercial product, maybe you shouldn't insist much on the theory.
The "antenna" design depends a lot on the coupling to the tranceiver chip - differential or single ended - and on the tuning circuit used for matching.
At 13.56MHz the antenna may contain a few loops of PCB tracks, square or round with diameter in the 5-10cm range and inductivity in the 0.5-2uH. Depending on the application it is important to have a Q factor lower than specified, for Mifare it's Q<40 if i remember well - this is to allow communication at 106kb/s, it may be different for othe apps.
So, from recommended transceiver output circuit values and the Wheeler formulas for square or round printed inductors, design an appropriate inductor, buid it and tune the circuit.
Test for Q, and if needed insert resistors (a few ohms) in series, until you get Q<40. During tests and tuning, always check to be below the maximum current rating of the transceiver output stage.
It may seem hard, but using the transceiver datasheet and modest test equipment, I got good results, similar to a commercial antenna I had (about 0.5-1cm lower range).
Big hug for you my friend,
Actually am looking for new idea. You know the reader and the tag must be with angle 0 to reed correctly but am trying to made an antenna like a cube but with 10 or 8 faces where each face has a loop or inductor connected in series. Simple idea but am scare that the single loop doesn't work.
I don't care about the quality or Q. the thing is "I NEED IT TO WORK" :D
NO MORE HELP?
