CCK Modulation and Demodulation

Hello,
I would like to understand what is CCK Modulation? How is spreading achieved in CCK ? What is the difference between CCK Modulation and Spreading using Barker Code.

I am trying to implement the modulator and demodulator for CCK Modulation used in IEEE 802.11b. What is the optimal technique in terms of hardware realization for demodulation.

Any useful pointers would help my investigation.
