Question about impedence

Hi everyone,
I have built a antenna for use with my air band radio (for checking atis). It works OK, but I think it will work far better on my roof.
If I only use this for receiving, how important is it to use 50ohm cable? My feedline will be about 10 meters. I already have some RG6 running up to the roof for the TV antenna, and am thinking of using it for this radio. Would I lose very much power thought the mismatch?
Thanks
Mark

RG6 cables are having 75Ω as impedance... If you know your exact range of frequency of operation then you can calculate the loss in dB....note that the losses are very minute.... follow this link to calculate the loss.....
