Hi guys,
I am designing a reflectarray. Now I want to calculate the required phase for each element in the array. I checked Dr. Pozar's paper:
D. M. Pozar and T. A. Metzler, "ANALYSIS OF A REFLECTARRAY ANTENNA USING MICROSTRIP PATCHES OF VARIABLE SIZE," ELECTRONICS LETTERS 75rh April 1993 Vol. 29 No. 8 .
In this paper Dr. Pozar gives a equation to calculate the required phase, please see the attached picture for the equation.
My question is: if I use the following units: frequency(GHz), wavelength(m) and Ri(m), then what the unit of the
I think the unit of

Is my understanding right? Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi panou,
φ is in radians, but its range is from -π to π, or from 0 to 2π.
N is any integer, and ko is 2π/λ.
λ and R must be in the same units (e.g. meters).
