algorthims to track people using RFIDs
What are the different algorithms used to track people using RFIDs?
For example: If I want to track patients in a hospital...what are the algorithms available to track them?
Which is the best suited one?

RFID cards have short range (max is 1-2m) so they are not suitable for people tracking. A friend of mine is designing for some company a RF wrist which every patient in the hospital should ware all the time. The wrist is sending every 1 minute a signal to the main unit which is also locating precisely the location of the patient. There is also an emergency button on the wrist. The battery inside can last up to 1-2 years. In addition the wrist is cheking all the time the pulse rate and if the rate is deviating from the thresholds send emergency call.

Thanks for the reply and what you said regarding your friend's work was correct and good.
Our idea is to build a RFID system to track and monitor the activities of psychriatic ward.
So, I have started looking into the stuff of how to track the location of patient. I didn't get any idea regarding this.
Googling a lot...Hope some or the other clue hits.
