please can any one explain me in details wich are the methodes of test of electric filters with the spectrum analyzer (with and without a tracking generator) using the standards (MILSTD AND CISPR or others) thank you.
You can do a crude test this way:
1) set the power level from your sweeper to be low enough so that the leveling loop is working to keep the power flat
2) Hook the sweeper to the spectrum analyzer with two cables and two 3 dB attenuator pads.
3) set the reference level on the spectrum analyzer to show the power sweep at the top of the screen
4) Insert filter between the two pads, and make your measurement. (if there is significant 2nd harmonic, or other harmonics, note that and make sure the portion you are measuring is harmonic/spur free)
