Substrate Selection for power Divider design at 10 GHz

hi all,

i want to design a wilkinson equal power divider at a design frequency of 10 GHz.

can any one kindly suggest some suitable substrate?

http://www.rogerscorp.com/documents/...Laminates.aspx

u can use ro6035htc laminate it can be used at high frequency and also for high power combinations,or u can also confirm by using rogers substrate selection software u can freely download in rogers site.

If your power is not high, you can use RO4350B.

There are many low substrates, with different epsilon and thickness.

It all depends what you need. Manufacturing might have limits on precision, minimum gaps etc.

Higher epsilon => shorter physical length for a given electrical length
Less substrate thickness => narrower lines and gaps for a given line impedance

And one most important point is that the selected substrate is very popular for the PCB maker, and RO4350B is one.

Very true. All of Rogers hydrocarbon ceramic materials from the RO4xxx series can be processed with "normal" PCB technology.
These materials are RO4003C (er=3.38) , RO4350C (er=3.48) and RO4360C (er=6.15)

The PTFE based materials have lower loss, but require special processing for the vias, which only a few PCB manufacturers offer.

For RO4350B, although the Er is 3.48, but Rogers suggests to use 3.66 when simulation, you can check the Rogers datasheet.

do you really need to design it? I can give you a hint where to find one or more already done - in multi output satellite lnb - they use power dividers to split the signal, you can easily cut the divider from the rest and use it in your own circuit. It is true that this approach is not very professional, but everything depends on what do you want to achieve.
