What is the maximum number of bits that can be simulated in optsim

I want to do a monte carlo simulation in optsim for FSO design using user defined block for channel coding. Is it possible to estimate BER using montecarlo simulation in optsim. Does any one know what is the maximum no of bits that can be simulated in optsim.....

maximum no bits which is simulated by optsim is 30 Gbits. If we increase the bits more than 30 gbits then chances of error are increased .

Thanks for the information. I wanted to know where i can set the number of bits to be simulated in BLOCK MODE.

Just go to edit option in your project. Then click the variables option. Here u can set the reference bits for your simulations. but if u want to set the maximum no of bit in block mode then set the properties of that block u will find the option for changing the no of bits . :)

hi... In user manual it is given that in optsim, BER is estimated with the simulation of atmost thousands of bits. But i need to calculate BER using direct counting method. So for the FSO link i need to simulate atleast 10G bits in order to estimate BER by direct counting. Is there provision to do this kind of simulation. Thanks for your reply.
