Residual subcarrier versus suppressed subcarrier

Hello everyone! Does anyone know which are the pros and cons of using a modulation scheme with residual subcarrier like the following one:

y(t)=sqrt(2)sin(2*pi*fc*t + sin(2*pi*fsc*t + pi*dk));

dk-->are the data +1 or 0

I'm studying this scheme that is called PCM/PSK/PM modulation with residual subcarrier from the point of view of synchronization.
Can you suggest me a scheme implementing a PLL to recover the carrier in this case?
