Power amplifier measurement & Magic Tee
I heard of a measurement method called "magic tee", it seems that this method is used in Power amplifier design and testing, mainly to get a result of the performance of Video bandwidth response of a PA. Can anyone here tell me how to do "magic tee" measurement or give some reference on it? Also there is Microwave component also called "magic tee", is there any connection btw these two?
Regards
Julian
any information?
A magic tee is described in all textbooks on microwave techniques. It can be used to adjust an arbitrary impedance on a waveguide, which is useful in testing also power amplifiers. A simpler version is named E/H tuner which also can be adjusted to arbitrary impedance.
Power amplifiers are now mostly tested for "load pull" which means the load impedance is varied to see how the amplifier reacts to it.
Hi Jiripolivka
I know that Magic-Tee, but what I really want to know is a testing methods called Magic-Tee that can evaluate the video frequency of a PA.
Regards;
Now I am confused: what do you mean "the video frequency" of a RF/microwave PA?
Insufficient data. Your question is the equivalent of asking "I want to build a house with a method called hammer". It means nothing. If you have some references to this measurement method, we will try to help.
