I can see the diagram ok.

It seems to be some complex mixer arrangement, with two outputs 90 degrees apart in phase. But I'm puzzled in that the LO appears to go into the output of an amplifier, not an input.

Sorry I have no idea what book it's from.

I've no idea why you can't see it. I'm only Firefox 7 on an admittedly unusual operating system - OpenSolaris 06/09, upgraded to build 134.

The image shows fine with me - Opera Mini on a mobile phone!

The LO is going into a splitter - it is just drawn strangely so it looks like an amplifier.

No idea of the book though.

Try "google reverse image Google Images " search engine or TinEye Reverse Image Search , I use this two whenever i get stuck with any kinda pics.
